"The new CD release MODERN HYMNS from the great Darrell Scott is now available and is a truly fine collection of songs which inspired him.
This was done in Nashville and every song was done "Live" in the studio with all the artists involved, including the strings and the choir, nerve-wracking for me as the foreigner as I didn't want to be the one to make a mistake so that everyone had to go again. But I think the pressure made for a truly memorable project
Darrell funded this project himself and it is a real tribute to him that his belief in the reason why we play is an honest one 'the love of it'!
Darrell is a very special man in many ways, as a musician he is 'stunning,' as a songwriter and poet, too many adjectives needed here, but more importantly he is a steadfast friend and one of the finest and principled men I have ever known yes I am biased, but ask around and you'll get the same tributes from others.
