After returning from the great trip to Norway just days later I was at the BBC studios Maida Vale to record the Mark Lamarr show with Graham Coxon, he reminds me so much of Nick Drake I want to give him a hug. He is a real pleasure to be with and I am flattered to be invited to work with him...name drop warning !!!!!...the next day I had a day out with Harry Shearer (Voice of the Simpsons and Derek Small of Tap fame)...we had a day at Thwaites bass shop playing all their collection of fine instruments..Harry fell in love with an Italian lady, a beautiful bass and now she has been rescued from the shop to live with Harry .....on the way home I got a call from the amazing lady Kate Bush who asked me to get to her house for a day of music together, and what a day it was !!..she really is one of our greatest artists and more importantly a wonderfully warm and natural person...needless to say her songwriting and music is still as creative as when she first blew us away...makes a great cup of tea too and I wanted to dognap her lovely Irish Terrier "Teddy"...but a great day together and ending with a blistering song....more name -drop warnings.....did you know that "Bat for Lashes" lady "Natasha Khan is my Goddaughter and makes me so proud now that she has had so much success with her career, and she hasn't changed at all, a lovely lady and more success to come I'm sure.....go "Tashpots"....getting ready for a months holiday and sorting out me Cozzie, Sunscreen, and Shades......and so for the New Year...I have finalised my guests for my concert during the "Celtic Connections" festival in January....I have managed to persuade Luka Bloom, Eddi Reader, Martin Simpson, Darrell Scott Tim and Mollie O Brien, and Donald Shaw, during the concert each will sing a John Martyn song to remind us all how badly we miss him, also we will have the guitar made by Martin for John that has his "Solid Air" logo on the fingerboard and also John's (God bless him) autograph...the concert is in the Fruitmarket Glasgow 30th January. Can't wait..I am also involved with the "Transatlantic Sessions" during the festival on the 29th and 31st January.....that's enough info for now isn't it ?......Match of the Day is coming on and Chelsea had another big win....gotta see it ...gotta b Dun...c'mon you BLUES!!....whoppers as ever for now ...Danny XX
