Danny's Update

So far this year Danny has recorded the fifth series of "Transatlantic Sessions" with a great collection of guests, “tremendous pleasure to have been invited to work with amazing musicians and fine people.” A vast amount of credit must go to Director, Mike Alexander, and the crew of ‘Pelicula Films’ whose dedication to recording music with such fine quality is a huge part of the success of the series. The Musicians are able to enjoy playing without any intrusive camera work and the attention to fingers at work is a special treat for any instrumentalist or music lover to enjoy.
As Danny says whenever he is asked "Have you ever played Bluegrass?" "I can say only once...with Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Alison Krauss, Donal Lunny, and Sharron Shannon!"...not bad eh? And there is proof !!" Plus of course the usual house band was there, Aly Bain (fiddle), Jerry Douglas (dobro), Mike McGoldrick (pipes and whistles), Donald Shaw (keyboards), James MacIntosh (drums).
Recently Danny had the privilege to work with the wonderful lady Kate Bush, he said "she really is a great person to be with and it's an honour to know her"
Danny also did some new tracks for Sir TOM JONES, and of course, he had a lot to say after that encounter "he is the real deal, we know what a tremendous singer he is, but even more importantly he is a 'Great Bloke', we all played together live in the studio".
Yesterday, May 9th, Danny recorded a track for the fine man HARVEY SUMMERS down at his studio in Bexhill, this was for his forthcoming album.
Next week Danny is performing with the MARK KNOPFLER BAND, at a charity evening for the GREAT initiative which stands for Gender Rights and Equality Action Trust, link to their website below:

On June 3rd he will be at the Albert Hall with "DONOVAN" and the London Contemporary Orchestra celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the recording "Sunshine Superman". Get those flowers out and go down memory lane.
Then on Sunday June 12th Danny will be playing at Broome Farm Peterstowe with MARTIN SIMPSON . Then on to GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL with "Pentangle"...THE REAL PENTANGLE THAT IS "!!! who will also be at "Cambridge Folk Festival" and the Royal Festival Hall on August 1st.
***Big news for July 2011 Danny is very happy to announce that he will be recording a duo album with the wonderful STAN TRACEY scheduled for the end of July and is working on the material right now.
Danny is working hard to create his own collection of work with his friends over the years this will be named "Connected" which says it all really...and includes the title track with Eric Bibb who wrote the song "Connected" keep checking for further information, when we get all the permissions completed it will be all systems go for a very interesting collection of music, Danny would love to add a track with Krystle Warren and also Zoe Rahman and for sure he is on the case.
That's it for now but as you can see Danny is very very busy and we can all know he will keep on giving us the wonderful sounds that he alone can make.
